Wednesday, November 12: The Scarlet Letter by Nathanael Hawthorne – dress in Red
•We are dressing in red in honor of the book “The Scarlet Letter” Here’s a famous quote from the book:

•There will be a YA book challenge where they match famous lines with the title of the book. Prizes will be awarded to winners.
Thursday, November 13: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins– Dress in ALL Black or ALL White
•Mockingjay: The Capitol versus the Rebellion – Teachers and students dress in white to support the Capitol or black to support the Rebellion. Here’s a famous quote from the book:

Friday, November 14: Dress as your favorite book character
•Rocket Vision spot – beginning of 1st period after announcements
•“Read Across the District” time 9:50-10:20 AM – Everyone Drops Everything and Reads for 30 minutes
•Mr. Wiggs will come Friday and read to the CDL classes during RAD time.
•Students bring in cakes and compete in a “Cake that looks most like a book” contest. They will be judged during 8th period. Winners will receive prizes.
Other activities at the library during the week of November 10 - November 14:
•Students will pose for a picture on Monday. Then the librarians will print them out, and they will be turned into their own bookmarks to be picked up by Friday.
•Throughout the week students will be encouraged to check out books from the library.
